Once you’ve received your confirmation of enrollment from the college, it’s time to prepare your visa application. We’ll send you the Visa Questionnaire for Students to fill out. After that, one of our registered migration agents will expertly draft your student visa application for you.
A key requirement for the Student Visa is that you must intend to come to or remain in Australia temporarily, with the primary purpose of studying. For our Pathway to Aus clients, we offer professional assistance in crafting an impressive Genuine Student Statement to support your application.
It’s essential to arrange OSHC for the entire duration of your Student Visa, and this must be paid in full before you submit your application. All individuals included in your visa application must have OSHC. However, students from Norway, Sweden, or Belgium may be exempt from this requirement.
Visa Duration Based on Course Length:
- 10 months or longer (finishing in November or December): Your visa will typically be granted until March 15 of the following year.
• 10 months or longer (finishing between January and October): Your visa is usually granted for two months longer than the length of your course.
• Less than 10 months: Your visa will generally be granted for one month longer than the duration of your course.

Some applicants will need to submit medical assessments and police checks. Immigration may reach out to you after you’ve submitted your visa application if additional documentation is required. For example, if you have a prior conviction, owe money to the Australian government, have a medical condition, or have military experience, you’ll need to provide specific documents such as:
• Police checks
• Payment plans
• Explanations
• Military discharge letter
Good news! You can include your legal spouse or de facto partner in your application. Generally, you’ll need to provide proof of your relationship, such as:
• Marriage certificate
• Evidence of cohabitation for at least 12 months
• Proof of shared finances
• Documentation showing you present yourselves as a committed couple
Australia recognizes same-sex marriages and partnerships, and the requirements remain the same.
You can also include your children or stepchildren in your application, with required evidence such as:
• Birth certificates
• School enrollment for kids over 6
• Form 1229: Consent for granting a visa to a child under 18
When you apply for your student visa, don’t forget the application fee! Here’s what you need to know:
• Main Applicant: $1,600
• Secondary Applicant (over 18): $1,190
• Secondary Applicants (under 18): $390
If you’re applying from within Australia, you might also need to pay a subsequent visa application charge of $700. This fee applies only if you’re applying from inside Australia for the current visa you hold.
